Bushveld Turnery Bouffadou
The bouffadou origin is generally attributed to the mountainous Central Massif region of France. Originally just a piece of hollowed sapwood used to direct air to the smouldering center of a struggling fire.
Since 2020 Bushveld Turnery brings it to you with Stainless Steel or Copper pipe with hand turned indigenous wood mouthpieces. The mouthpiece is turned out of a single piece of solid indigenous Southern African wood. The metal pipes give each one a long life and the nature of our indigenous woods ensures that your bouffadou, is truly one of a kind.
We manufacture all of our Bushveld Bouffadou's in different types of indigenous Southern African tree species. There are no two pieces that come off the lathe that are the same, even if they originate from the same tree, they all have their own scars, knots and stories. So you can rest assured that you own a truly unique piece of fire-starting equipment.
